If you know anything about Search Engine Optimization (SEO), then you know the importance of links. For those who are new to the field, the reader’s digest version on this topic is that links are one site mentioning another website with a hyperlink. There are many innovative ways to go about this process and we’ll touch on that later, but for now we’re going to stick with the basics. Here are two ways to get started in building links for your website now.
1. Start a blog
Everyone has a blog these days, so it isn’t enough just to have one. In order for your blog to have a chance to be successful, it must be compelling, it must have a purpose, it must be informative and/or fun to read, and you must put in the hard work of creating new content for your blog. If you don’t keep it updated, it isn’t worth starting.
2. Write a guest blog post for a well-known blog
Like we mentioned, it is hard work keeping content fresh on a blog, so blog owners are usually very open to letting a guest blogger post a well written and interesting article on their blog. If you don’t want to read your writing, no one else will so no mistakes and nothing boring. It’s important to ask the owner if you can include a link in or at the end of your article. By asking permission, there are no misunderstandings.
